Background:
Hobie Cat Europe designed this boat to meet the French Sailing Federation requirements for learning and competing, in the 12-14 year old category on a catamaran. The essential objectives covered by this design are to keep the costs of sailing an entry level catamaran to a minimum, to maximize safety on board, and to create a boat with a good performance potential.

Lots of fun, easy to rig, a ton of flotation. so call your friends to come along. Adaptable, double trapeze and spinnaker - just like the big guys. Two more years and we can double trapeze on the Hobie Cat 16.
